PVC in white or light-neutral colors performs reliably in most conditions. Dark-colored PVC profiles — anthracite, charcoal, black — absorb solar radiation significantly in Texas, Florida, and Arizona's sustained heat, which can cause irreversible frame deformation. When the frame warps, gaskets stop sealing under compression and the thermal and acoustic performance you purchased is no longer being delivered — and cannot be restored. For dark-color specifications or large-format openings in hot climates, thermally-broken aluminium is the correct engineering choice.

Note: acoustic performance is determined primarily by the glass package (laminated glass composition, gap width, gas fill), not the frame material.
